MAJESTIC TOURIST THIRD CABIN 1929

TOURIST THIRD CABIN LOUNGE

Majestic B-deck

Majestic Earlier Lounge

Majestic Early Lounge

Left, above and below: Majestic’s tourist third cabin accommodation underwent a number of changes during the years that she was in service. The deckhouse was divided into two smaller rooms, a lounge and a smoke room, and was altered to a large lounge. Another interesting point to note is that the lounge was originally aft on D-deck, but after the deck designations were altered - and moved down two decks - over the winter of 1928-29 it became B-deck. (Author’s collection.)

‘A liner combines uniquely outdoors and indoors - one, literally a step from the other. The lounge is equipped for every activity...for every mood and temperament. Jolly days are spent here over cards, and merry evenings with music and dancing.’
